IanMc
This thread is well exciting lads - can't wait to see it with a shiny new shell on. If it's not too rude to ask............how much is the prep work and re-spray costing? Cheers, Ian
Devil Fish
Sorry Ian, that is kind of private, but if you want to get a quote for some work, I can pass on numbers etc... Right as far as I understand it (not very well), primer goes on, then a special 'stain' (or just paint!) goes on, then the flattening begins, the idea being that you use the 'stain' as a guide so that you end up with no imperfections... To be honest the art of painting a car is all magic to me! anyway pics! oh and a bit of rust being sorted that me and James missed! I honestly can't begin to describe in words how excited I am getting!
stradacab
Looking very good now, Have we got some colour on it now or is it still being flatted down?
entwistlecymru
The inside of the bootlid and bonnet are painted and they look gooooood! You're gonna be pleased as punch with the results Daz - it looks good now and its only in primer!
Devil Fish
Door repair continued... outer piece cut out, inner treated with hydrate 80 (cheers Chris ) new metal in and back in primer... passenger door has required a fair bit more work as two humps were found and previous filling once the primer was on...all now sorted and straight now car is getting some colour monday/tuesday Edited September 11, 2009 by Devil Fish

Leon
The "stain" you are talking about is called a guide coat, it's used to detect low/high spots on the body when sanding down. Can't wait to see it in colour!
